If you’re looking for a major distinction in performance between LG’s LW9500 series and the lesser expensive LW7700 series, you won’t find much. Beyond the 480 Hz refresh rate (as opposed to the LW7700’s 240 Hz) and the an optional, larger 60-inch model (displayed on this page), this series of top-of-the-line LED TVs include most of the same benefits and specs. Both feature LG’s innovative NANO lighting technology for brighter, clearer 2D/3D pictures along with perks like Smart TV Internet applications, WiFi USB dongle, and Magic Wand Remote. The only major reason one might want to spend more on the LW9500 series is the newly designed ultra-slim bezel found on these models and what is being called their “thinnest design.” If you don’t mind an LED TV with most of the same specs but a bulkier frame, you could save a few bucks. That being said, if design plays a significant part in your TV-buying decision, you’ll no doubt appreciate the LW9500’s extraordinary slimness.
