Review of the Best Gaming Mouse

1. Zelotes Wired T90 Gaming Mouse

Zelotes has always made products that were worth way more than you pay and due to this, they have been growing a fanbase. The Zelotes wired t90 gaming mouse has to be the best-valued mouse on this list. This mouse can easily compete with some mouses that cost double the price making it a mouse to keep an eye on, especially if you are on a budget.

DPI

I haven’t encountered a mouse this cheap other than the t90 that has so many DPI options. This Mouse has six different DPI modes going from 1000 DPI all the way to 9200 DPI! When you Consider that the Sades mouse above is around the same price as the t90, I don’t even have to tell you how much value you are getting.

Software

The Zelotes Wired t90 is a plug and play gaming mouse that requires no software to use. This might be an issue for people who looking to really customize their gaming experience. Fortunately, there are many good third party mouse drivers that you can find online,

Buttons

The wired t90 has eight programmable buttons which is crazy value for the money. If you are an MMO gamer on a budget, then this is a mouse that you should consider.

Any Unique Feature

One cool feature that the Zelotes gaming mouse has would have to be the fact that you can change the mouse’s color. If you look at the image above you can see all the different variations and if you want to you could even mix and match the colors! Considering that I recently wrote a corsair k95 RGB keyboard review. This mouse and that keyboard would go nicely together.

Any Issues

There are no issues with the Zelotes, which are worth mentioning. I mean you shouldn’t expect it to be better than more expensive houses, but when you consider the cheap asking price there is little you can complain about.

Personal Thoughts on Zelotes Wired T90 Gaming Mouse

If I were looking for a cheap gaming mouse, that also had the most going for it, I would pick the Zelotes wired t90 gaming mouse without a doubt. This mouse just provides so much value that it’s insane. I mean just think about what you’re getting. The Zelotes wired t90 is a mouse that changes colors, has a braided cord for extra cord protection, eight programmable buttons, and six different DPI options. If that’s not impressive, I don’t know what is.

SteelSeries Rival 3 Gaming Mouse

The SteelSeries Rival 3 Gaming Mouse has an elegant and ergonomic design for all-day comfort, professional use, and gameplay.

On the other hand, recent users advise not to overcharge and ruin the battery since it has a built-in irreplaceable battery as its power source.

DPI

SteelSeries has outdone themselves once again with the Rival 3 Gaming Mouse. Featuring superior components and a new low-end optical sensor, this mouse can track at up to 8,500dpi and is precise at up to 300 inches per second.

Whether you're a hardcore gamer or just looking for a more comfortable way to work, the Rival 3 is sure to please.

Are you looking for a mouse that will take your gaming to the next level? Then you need to check out the SteelSeries Engine Software.

This software allows you to customize your RGB lighting, as well as chat with friends and fellow gamers using Discord or GameSense Engine Apps. You'll never miss an in-game event again when you have this software on your side!

Featuring SteelSeries Engine buttons and eight programmable buttons, this mouse will help you take down your opponents with ease. Plus, the raised side buttons provide a comfortable grip and easy access to your most commonly used commands.

Any Unique Feature

Introducing the SteelSeries Rival 3, the impeccable mouse for gamers on a budget. This affordable pick has an intuitive design that makes it easy to use for players of all levels.

The gaming headset is built with sturdy and highly durable materials, ensuring a longer service life and heavy-duty performance, giving you a good value for your hard-earned money.

Any Issues

This mouse is engineered for pro gamers. It has an efficient gaming sensor that makes it easy to control movements and achieve the best results. While the Rival 3 mouse’s original style garners praise, some users who prefer minimalistic designs find the RGB unattractive.

Personal Thoughts on the SteelSeries Rival 3 Gaming Mouse

The SteelSeries Rival 3 is made with heavy-duty materials. It’s engineered and built to withstand even the most intense gaming sessions. Although customers say they have experienced clicker issues at first set up, you can easily fix it by following the manual provided.

3. Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse

If you are looking for a really cheap gaming mouse that doesn’t sacrifice on quality then you should check out the Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse, not only is it cheap, but it also has many customizable features that make it my go to choice for a mouse under $15 dollars. If you are looking for the most affordable Mouse of this build, then this is it.

DPI

The Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse, DPI can be adjusted all the way up to 2000. While that’s not amazing for a gaming mouse you have to consider the price. Besides it’s more than enough to game competitively.

Software

The Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse doesn’t come with any special software and is just a neat little plug and play mouse, but since I love you guys, I decided to look around and found out that there is a software for this mouse and found out that you can find the software on the makers website, and it will allow you to program your macros and also gives full control over DPI (Dots Per Inch) and other features.

Buttons

There are 6 buttons on this mouse and each one of them can be programmable to different keys or macros. With 6 buttons this mouse is ideal for someone who plays shooters and other action oriented games. I would not recommend this mouse for playing MMO’s, and MOBA’s competitively. For those type of games, I would recommend at least getting a 10 button mouse.

Any Unique Feature

One Feature that really stood out to me with the M601 is the fact that you are getting such a high-quality braided cable at this price range. One of the worst things that can happen to a mouse is the cable snapping, so knowing that you have a quality cable definitely offers peace of mind.

Any Issues

The Only Issue I could find with the Redragon M601, was that for some people it can be a little light. It comes with weights, but other they don’t weight that much so people who prefer heavier mice, might want to look somewhere else.

Personal Thoughts on the Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse

I actually have one of these, and I can’t tell you how good it is for its price. Sure, it doesn’t have a lot of buttons, but if you are just getting started gaming or are very casual then this mouse is more than enough. I’m also a huge fan of the style of this mouse and that was probably the main reason why I picked it up in the first place. This is the cheapest gaming mouse on the list, but don’t immediately discredit it because of that, because the M601 really does have a great deal going for it.

Good Cheap Gaming Mice

If you are looking for some good gaming mice on a budget of around 30 dollars then you really can’t go wrong with getting either one of these.

4. Combaterwing Professional Gaming Mouse

The Combaterwing gaming mouse has a design that makes you want to stand and just look at it, but this mouse is more than just beauty it, it also comes packed full of fantastic features making it an absolute steal at it’s low asking price. If you want a unique gaming mouse that will stand out from the crowd the Combaterwing has you covered.

DPI

The DPI is probably the worst thing about this mouse, yet it is still impressive and for 99% of the population, it’s more than enough. The Mouse offers DPI’s up to 4800 which is great.

Software

This mouse comes with a CD that you can use to install the mouse’s software, but if you’re anything like me and don’t have an optical drive then you can also get the software for

Buttons

This mouse has ten different programmable buttons which is the main reason the Combaterwing made it onto this list. Unlike the mice before this, I would recommend this mouse to someone who is trying to play MMO games at least semi-competitively.

Any Unique Feature

The Combaterwing is an RGB mouse, which means that it can change colors from Red, Green, and Blue giving a variety of excellent LED light up options that customize the mouse even further. You can also mix and match the colors for an even look. Since this is such a cool feature, I’ve posted a picture below that showcases what I’m saying

Any Issues

While I don’t have any major issues with this mouse, the mouse doesn’t have any weight tuning so if that’s important to you check this mouse’s weight before you decide to pick it up.

Personal Thoughts on the Combaterwing Gaming Mouse

If want to have a gaming mouse that will blow your friends away while still maintaining you budget, then this is the mouse to get.

5. Perixx MX-2000 IIB Gaming Mouse

Perrixx is a rather new manufacturer, so I was rather hesitant to put them on this list, but their gaming mouse, the MX-2000 is just too good to keep off. The thing that made this mouse stand out to me, at first, was its beautiful yet simple design, but the more I read about it, the more it started to stand out to me. If you love customization, then this mouse was made for you.

DPI

This mouse’s DPI doesn’t go as high as the Zelotes, but the one thing I love about this mouse is that instead of a few presets, this mouse features a slider that goes from 100-5600 DPI. The MX-2000 II gives you an even greater amount of freedom to set your DPI to whatever you want (as long as it’s between 100-5600).

Software

You can find the software by going to Perixx’s website. Considering that Perixx is very new, I was really impressed by their software. With the software installed, this seriously opens up a plethora of customization options. You can adjust anything in this software which one of the main reasons I picked this mouse. The software allows you to have multiple gaming profiles so you can set your macros for different character builds.

Buttons

The MX-2000 II has eight different programmable buttons making it a good buy for someone who is going for a cheap gaming mouse. With eight buttons you should expect to play most action games very well but still might struggle to play competitively in games which have a lot of skills.

Any Unique Feature

The Perixx MX-2000 II is a laser gaming mouse that can work on any surface. What this means that even if you don’t have a real mousepad you can just place this mouse on any stable surface and still game ( I wouldn’t recommend this, but it’s still pretty neat when you are moving around on the fly).

Any Issues

Although this is an awesome mouse, some people are reporting that this mouse gives out after about a year and a half of use. This perfectly normal considering the price of the mouse, but I just wanted to let you know.

Personal Thoughts on the Perixx MX-2000 II Gaming Mouse

When you are getting so much quality out of a mouse with such a cheap price tag, you really should take notice. Sure there are better gaming mice, but on a budget of around 30 dollars, this is a good mouse to check out. Unlike most other mouses with preset DPI options, you are given the ability to set your own customized DPI option which makes this mouse much more appealing.

Cheap Competitive Gaming Mice

These mice are cheap when you consider what value you are getting and these are what I personally would recommend if you have the budget for one. Each mouse is competitive enough to play in just about any PC game. Getting one of these mice will easily cost around $40 to $50 dollars.

6. Logitech G600 Gaming Mouse

The Logitech G600 has been around for a while, but due to a recent firmware update, I would say this mouse is back at the top for anyone who is trying to game competitively on a budget. Look, I’m not going to act like I’m not a little bit biased (I own a G600), but this is a great gaming mouse that has lasted me years. If you are looking for a brand name gaming mouse, then look no further because the Logitech G600 is specifically for you.

DPI

Unlike the other two mice on this list, the Logitech G600 only goes up to 8400 DPI, which is more than enough for most people, but if you’re looking for higher DPI’s then check out the Redragon or the Venus.

Software

This mouse doesn’t come with a CD or anything, but you can get the up to date driver software online. since I’ve used this software, I have to say that it’s very simple, but also allows you to adjust just about whatever you want on your mouse

Buttons

The Logitech G600 has 20 programmable buttons that all easily make it stand out in this field making it the best cheap gaming mouse for people who need plenty of programmable buttons. My only issue with this is the fact that there aren’t any memory profiles like the other two mice.

Any Unique Feature

Unlike most of the mice on this list, Logitech is a brand that carries a lot of weight. So if you’re the type of person who cares about the brand name product has then this is the mouse to get.

Any Issues

Since I’ve had this mouse for years, I can attest to its longevity, but the one thing that I’ve noticed with this mouse is that the cord fabric starts to tear over time. While this isn’t that big of a deal, I just thought I should mention it. (See having a mouse also allows me to be more critical)

Personal Thoughts on the Logitech G600 Gaming Mouse

I’ve had the Logitech G600 as my primary gaming mouse for years, and I can personally attest to the longevity of this mouse. If you are looking for a mouse that will last you a long time and is backed by amazing drivers and a world renowned manufacturer, then this is the mouse to get.

7. UtechSmart Venus Gaming Mouse

Utechsmart’s Venus gaming mouse looks very similar to the Perixx gaming mouse above, and if someone told me that the Venus was an upgraded version of the Perixx, then I would believe them without a doubt. There’s a reason the Venus made it onto my list, and that’s because it truly provides fantastic value for what you are getting and should satisfy even the toughest critic.

DPI

Similar to the Redragon M901 Gaming Mouse, the Venus offers an array of DPI options going from as low as 50 DPI all the way up to 16400 DPI. I don’t know what you would need such low or high DPI for, but it’s pleasant to know that the mouse offers these features.

Software

The software comes with a CD with the Venus, but you’re also able to go to their website and download the more up to date driver(This is what I recommend). With Utechsmart’s software, you will gain the ability to customize DPI, pointer speed, scroll speed, and almost anything else you could think of customizing.

Buttons

This mouse comes with 18 programmable buttons that you can use making it another highly competitive gaming mouse at a great price. I’d without a doubt recommend this for any type of gaming due to the many buttons and profiles that allow you to switch your setup on the fly.

Any Unique Feature

This mouse allows you to balance the mouse using weights to adjust the Venus mouse to your preference. This means that whether you like light or heavy mice for gaming, this mouse will work for you. The Venus also has a rubber surface that gives you a better grip on the mouse while gaming.

Any Issues

I honestly have no issues that I feel are worth mentioning against the Venus gaming mouse, I mean sure you can nitpick, but this is just an overall solid mouse with crazy amounts of customization.

Personal Thoughts on the UtechSmart Venus Gaming Mouse

If you are looking for a mouse that isn’t super flashy but has some amazing features inside of it, you really can’t go wrong checking out the Utechsmart Venus gaming mouse. No matter what game you play, you will have the tools needed to play it competitively.

Note: Utechsmart also offers an 18-month warranty on the Venus gaming mouse, which might help alleviate some uncertainty when getting this mouse. So if you’re borderline, then feel comfortable getting this with the warranty.

8. Redragon M901 PERDITION Gaming Mouse

If you’re willing to pay a little more and want the cheapest competitive gaming mouse, then I would quickly select the Redragon M901 Perdition. This mouse is jam packed full of features that all come together to make this a mouse that provides fantastic value for someone who is on a budget.

DPI

The DPI on the M901 perdition has five different modes starting at 1000 and going up all the way to 16400! Yep, you heard me right, this mouse can go all the way up to 16400. For most people, however, this is overkill, but it’s a nice feature to have if you love higher DPI mice.

Software

You can find the Redragon M901’s software by going to the developers website, and I have to say that it is some great software. You get a plethora of customization options that allow you to customize the color of your mouse and the programmable keys. The software isn’t just cosmetic, but also gives you the ability to customize your gaming profiles allowing you to switch on the fly. If you love customization, then the M901 has you covered.

Buttons

The Redragon M901 Perdition particularly shines when it comes to the number of programmable buttons it has and seriously makes it a top contender to any person who is trying to game competitively on a budget. You see, with the M901 you are getting eighteen programmable buttons which should be enough for any game out there (even MMO’s).

Any Unique Feature

The mouse has five memory profiles that you can set different presets too. That means you can hop on one game go to the first profile and then later play another game and go to the second preset memory file. I can’t imagine how invaluable this would be for people who play many different games with totally different skills and macros.

Any Issues

This mouse is pretty big and some people with smaller hands claim to have issues with reaching all the buttons in an efficient manner. If you have average to large hands, then there is no discernable problem with this mouse that I could detect.

Personal Thoughts on the Redragon M901 Perdition Gaming Mouse

Even though this is the cheapest competitive gaming mouse on this list, The Redragon M901 Perdition is a solid buy on a budget and is worth every penny. If you know, anything about the razer naga series this mouse is similar to that but at half the price. If that’s not a good buy, I don’t know what is.

Conclusion

PC gaming is becoming more prevalent, and being able to have that competitive edge on your competition is a must. Unfortunately, we can’t all go out and buy the most expensive products to do that, so this lists job was to even the playing field by providing good, but also cheap gaming mice that fit any budget. If this list helped you at all, please feel free to share this post.

Oh, yeah and if you are looking for a good gaming PC to go with your mouse, then I would wholeheartedly recommend building your own. Check out my $400 build, or my $500 build to learn more.

When the tech company I worked for restructured and I ended up jobless, I decided to put the wealth of knowledge and management skills to use somewhere new. I’d checked out a few buyer’s guides on the site in the past and reached out to the previous owner. A few months later, here we are. Now, I get to be behind the scenes, helping people find the best tech.
