Here Are The Best PC Gaming Headsets Under $50

Review of the Best PC Gaming Headsets Under $50

Best Overall:
HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Nice design
  • Comfortable
  • Amazing surround sound

CONS

  • 3.5mm jack
  • Can’t hear yourself when you speak
  • Not that durable (be careful with them!)
  • Lightweight headset with 90-degree rotating ear cups
  • 50-millimeter directional drivers for audio precision
  • HyperX is one of our top choices when it comes to the best Gaming Headset under $50

We chose the HyperX as we very much like the way it reduces distractions during gaming sessions. It squeaked by just under the $50 mark as of this writing, which makes it is the most expensive headset on the list.

We appreciate the ability to mute the microphone with a simple swing/tilt to the upright position – instead of fumbling around looking for a tiny mute button when you're about to explode on a rage-filled scream session.

Speaking of the microphone, the HyperX also offers a noise-cancelling feature which anyone on the other side of your mic will appreciate…hearing only the sweet sweet sultry sounds of your voice.

Having the volume control directly on the headset was convenient for when the sound needs adjusting – again so you don’t have to fumble around looking for a button to press on the line.

The earcups are also memory foam and very comfortable, which is always important for long-term use. There is a 50 mm driver able to produce good sound and the earcups are able to rotate 90 degrees, so you can rest them on your neck and turn up the volume if you need a little break from them. The swivel function also works well for traveling, as the headset is able to lay more flat.

This is also the lightest headset on the list, at a mere 9.8 ounces – which again makes this headset feel extremely comfortable. With everything listed above, this headset is a fantastic choice and worthy of one of our top spots.

Runner-up:
LOGITECH G430 GAMING HEADSET

PROS

  • Super affordable
  • Amazingly comfortable
  • Mic w/ noise reduction
  • Super-long braided cord
  • 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound

CONS

  • Not that customizable
  • Build quality isn’t the best
  • DTS Headphone: X and Dolby 7; 1 surround Sound: experience an immersive 360-degree sound field...
  • Built for comfort: lightweight design and soft sport cloth ear cups with 90-degree swivel

These headsets are made by Logitech, which is known to produce high-quality gaming equipment and these headsets are a great addition to the company.

One of the first things you notice about these headphones is how light they are. The G430s look very bulky, but that is not the case at all, as they weigh a pound. Not only are they light, but the earcups feel great on your ears and you can easily game for hours without the feeling that your ears are being tortured.

The mic sounds great and allows you to talk to your friends and communicate with others effectively. Not only do these sound great, but the G430s look just as good as they sound and really impress with their simple, yet beautiful design.

The real thing that sets these headsets apart is the astounding surround sound they provide. The only thing that could really ruin these headphones would be background noise. Luckily, with Logitech G430s, you will hear nothing but your gaming world due to the amazing noise cancellation that literally makes you feel as though you’ve changed worlds.

If you're also kind of a neat freak, you'll appreciate the detachable cups that can be washed – a small thing but very helpful and convenient.

One cool unique feature these headphones have is the noise-cancelling mic. Many mics at this price range do not have this feature and being able to filter background noise from your mic is pretty important, especially if you are in a noisy environment. It is for this reason this product stands out, as most headsets have not offered a noise-cancelling mic.

Our only issue with these gaming headsets is they can easily break, as these have weak points. So if you are a headset abuser, you might want to look at more durable options, as these won’t make it. With the most reviews out of any headset we've come across, the G430s have stood the test of time and come out on top.

RECOMMENDED FOR

We recommend these headsets to anyone looking for a quality gaming headset that offers great sound and a noise-cancelling mic. If you are willing to take care of these headphones and aren’t worried about the durability, these are headsets to consider.

Best for the Money:
SADES SA913 GAMING HEADSET

PROS

  • Good sound
  • 7.1 surround sound
  • Amazing mic
  • Very good for the price

CONS

  • On the heavier side
  • Light stays on all the time
  • 【HIGH COMPATIBILITY】Support PC, Mac, Laptop, Computer games, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1,...
  • 【7.1 VIRTUAL SURROUND SOUND】Advanced driver delivers 7.1 virtual stereo surround sound

Sades is a relatively new company that has really claimed its piece of the gaming headset market with amazing budget-friendly, high-quality headsets. In our top five,we’ve chosen the Sades SA902s.  We’ve moved on from the multiple jack options to straight USB connections.

When you look at what makes a good headset for someone who is going to be using them for gaming, you are really looking at a few major things. Does it have a good mic? The mic on the Sades is made out of a high-quality silicone which keeps it clear and means a lot less static.

Is it comfortable? With this headset, you will have four-piece foam ear cups that feel amazing and will allow you to game for as long as you want with no discomfort.

What about background noise? With the Sades SA902s, you are getting a noise-canceling headset that will allow you to game with no distractions so you can be fully immersed in the game world.

What about the sound? That’s where these headphones truly shine, Sades is known for their amazing bass and these headphones really can reach some amazing lows that other headphones in this price range just can't.

Unbelievably, these also provide 7.1 surround sound, which is quite amazing for the price. We honestly can’t find anything negative to say about these headphones and while there are better-sounding ones, these are just amazing headsets for what you are paying. Others would agree, as this headphone is a top seller at Amazon and has most reviews we’ve seen on a headset.

RECOMMENDED FOR

People who are wanting to spend around $30 on a headset and want to get the best for the price should choose this product.

4. XIBERIA Gaming Headset

PROS

  • 7.1 surround
  • 2-year warranty
  • Thick USB cable
  • Built-in volume & mute control

CONS

  • May not block noise perfectly
  • Padding may be small for some
  • Head size may be an issue (small or large)
  • BLUETOOTH FUNCTION : It is a Bluetooth headphone for 8-PIN, please open the Bluetooth to...
  • WIDE COMPATIBILITY : Compatible with Phone X 8 7, support all iOS system, enjoy the music
  • Xiberia is another new company created by The WCA (or World Cyber Arena) – who host some of the largest gaming matches across the world.

The headphones themselves are well-built and heavily padded with PU leather, and allows for hours of gameplay without becoming painful. There’s a floating leather band that’s wide enough to distribute the weight of the entire headset.

People with small heads have found some disparities in terms of getting the headphones to sit comfortably, but one thing XIBERIA has routinely attempted to do (or so it seems) is steer away from overly tight setups that crush the speakers into your ears.

The omni-directional microphone complements the setup, and is rated to about 38 decibels, give or take, meaning you’ll have no problem communicating clearly and directly with your friends. There have been some variable reports on the quality of sound, but again, taking advantage of their warranty is always an option.

The Xiberia is also the second lightest headsets on the list, at 10.2 ounces. Another small drawback, however, is that even though they are marketed as having noise cancellation properties (and for the most part this holds true), the sound out is not quite the same – depending on the fit of your headphones, you can expect from noise leakage.

5. Jeecoo JC-G1000 Stereo Over-Ear Gaming Headset

PROS

  • Great bass
  • Good sound
  • Amazing mic
  • Very good for the price

CONS

  • Padding could be thicker
  • Uses USB, audio, & mic jack to operate

We decided to include one more ultra budget gaming headset, and, after checking out plenty of headsets, we chose the Jeecoo JC-G1000 Gaming Headset.

The first thing you should know about this is that while it’s cheap and budget-friendly, you shouldn’t immediately discount it, as it really does offer a great deal for its price. The mic of this headset is clear and precise, which is important when you consider how important communication is when gaming with others.

These headsets are pretty comfortable with padding that makes them enjoyable to wear for a great period of time. The Jeecoo can also fit any size so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to that. The sound is good and can really hold its own against more expensive headsets. One of the major pluses for this headset is its amazing bass that really lets you feel those lows while gaming, which is very rare at this price point.

This headset also offers a choice of three colors; blue, green, or red.

This headset is slightly better than the AFUNTA X1 headset, as it has a 50 mm driver for larger sound.

One additional  feature that is pretty amazing is that this headset also offers a noise-cancelling microphone to remove any background noise when you’re speaking. We werevery surprised that a headset of this price was able to offer such a large driver and noise-cancelling features.

RECOMMENDED FOR

We recommend this headset to someone looking for a good-quality gaming headset at a very nice price who also lives in a pretty noisy environment when gaming.

PROS

  • Budget-friendly
  • Ultra-lightweight design
  • Crystal clear mic
  • Exceptional PRO audio
  • Perfect for next-gen games

CONS

  • Relatively new line of headsets
  • Also compatible with mobile gaming
  • Beeping issues at first setup

The PDP Gaming LVL50 Wired Headset offers professional audio quality, making it your best device for gaming and multimedia activities that require great sound. On the flip side, the headset is quite new on the market, so there are only a few available product reviews online.

The PDP LVL50 Headset is perfect for gamers and content creators on the go. With its ultra-lightweight design and size, you can carry it anytime and anywhere you decide to work.

The crystal clear mic ensures your communications are loud and clear, whether you’re engaging in virtual combat, chatting with friends, or having that important meeting with a client.

The good news is that all of these benefits and advantages are up for grabs without breaking the bank. So it’s really a good idea to purchase this valuable gaming gear.

The PDP Gaming LVL50 Headset features a lightweight design that makes it perfect for gaming on the go. However, users may experience some beeping at first setup, which can easily be addressed via basic troubleshooting procedures available in the manual or online.

RECOMMENDED FOR

The LVL50 Wired Headset’s exceptional sound quality will give gamers a cutting-edge advantage over its competition. Its comfortable fit ensures pleasant hours of gameplay. Note that a 3.5mm jack may be required as an adaptor for mobile gamers, which is sold separately.

7. AFUNTA X1-S GAMING HEADSET

PROS

  • All-in-one
  • Ultra-affordable
  • Durable material
  • Super-comfortable
  • Surprisingly good mic

CONS

  • Uses USB, audio, & mic jack to operate
  • Comfort may be an issue over long periods
  • Sound could be a little better (have to consider price though)
  • 4-pin 3.5mm single plug, applied on single 3.5 mm hole notebook and mobile phone
  • Use 3.8mm overstriking litz wire, extra strong, prevent cable from being broken

When searching for the best gaming headset under $50, we realized that not everyone could get headsets at that price, so we found a gaming headset that is much cheaper. We chose the Afunta X1-S.

There’s a lot going for this headset and not only is it a very quality buy considering the price, but it also brings a host of features with it. We have yet to come across a more comfortable gaming headset at such a cheap price that best these. Considering that games are getting so long, it makes sense to look for comfortable headsets.

The worst thing is when you are gaming and have headphones that start hurting your ears breaking immersion. With these that will not be a problem, as they feature a soft leather cushion memory foam earcups that really make a difference. There have been some reports (perhaps on larger heads?) of comfort issues, but there are plenty of positive reviews about the comfort, as well.

You also have the cord to look forward to, as it is very durable so you don’t have to worry about that breaking on you . One of the most important things about a gaming headset is being able to communicate with others and the Afunta X1-S’s mic is very clear so you can easily communicate with others while gaming.

One thing to note about these headphones is that while the sound quality is good, these will not sound like the gaming headsets at the top of this list. So if you are really trying to get that top gaming experience, you might want to check out the more expensive headsets.

One of the biggest surprises with the Afuntas is that you are able to basically use these headsets for any device. So if you want to listen to music on your iPhone with these and then hop on your PC and plug these in to start gaming, that is totally possible. They might not look like the best travel-around headphones, but if you are on a super-tight budget, that could prove pretty useful.

RECOMMENDED FOR

People who are on a tight budget and do not have the money to spend on a more expensive gaming headset will appreciate this inexpensive offering.

Conclusion

With so many different headsets, it’s really hard to find the best gaming headset under $50, but with this list, you can find some amazing headsets that will be a joy to game with. Whether you are looking for a really cheap gaming headset or one that’s closer to $50 or something a bit less expensive, we’ve got you covered in this list.

When the tech company I worked for restructured and I ended up jobless, I decided to put the wealth of knowledge and management skills to use somewhere new. I’d checked out a few buyer’s guides on the site in the past and reached out to the previous owner. A few months later, here we are. Now, I get to be behind the scenes, helping people find the best tech.
